If you received a phone call, text or email telling you to purchase gift cards for ANY reason, hang up and do not respond. Remember: gift cards are for gifts, not to make payments to any person or company.
You may be told a family member is in trouble, you owe an urgent utility bill, or need to pay a fine to avoid arrest. These situations are never true.
